What is affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing refers to online activities that are aimed at marketing someone else’s product or service, out of which one may receive a cut from every lead that is generated and which ends in a sale or sign up of that product or service. A person who engages in affiliate marketing is called an affiliate.
To make money with affiliate marketing, you need to do the following:
Choose the right product
Know what products bring in the most sales and promote the same or similar products, rather than marketing one from an untapped niche. If it works for others, it should work for you as well.
Conduct a market research
Do your homework about your market and your potential customers. Market research is as valuable in an online business as it is to a brick-and-mortar enterprise.Understanding your target market enables you to craft a great pre-sell page leading to the merchant’s site.
Ensure that use the correct keywords
Search engines allow advertisers to bid on keywords that link to their sites. Choose only keywords that can get you the best conversions and consider looking for long tail keywords to keep your bid prices lower.
Create a good pre-sell page
Capture your reader’s attention using your headline and sub-headline with words that arouse curiosity, provoke emotion, or convey a sense of urgency. Your pre-sell should read like an editorial, testimonial, advice, case study or a review that addresses a need or solves a problem for your reader.
Diversify
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Multiple revenue streams help ensure that your income is not jeopardised should the door close of one of them.
You can also learn other techniques from experts who have developed their own tried and tested systems for conducting affiliate marketing. There is a lot of money to be made in affiliate marketing if you are willing to learn and put in your time and energy into it.
