After you have the website banners made, test them out. See which get the most clicks and then make some more like that with simple variations and see which works best.
When you know which banners get the best CTR start checking for which banners lead to the most sales. It will surprise you to find out that the banner that gets the most clicks and the banners that generate the most sales aren’t the same.
Those are two different uses for banners and you need to remember that when you make a banner. One drives traffic with lots of clicks and the other drives higher sales but gets fewer clicks. If you want to use them on your site, in my opinion there are only a few reasons to do them, they should contain an offer that’s next to irresistible, a way to get something they are interested in very cheap or for free and to direct them to a site they need to see. When you have pop up banners that help your surfers you’ll do well and get few complaints.
